London and Muscat Host CU Graduation Ceremonies

Winter 2015 saw Coventry University (CU) graduates attend graduation ceremonies at Middle East College, Muscat, Oman and at Coventry University London Campus (CULC) and London to celebrate their hard work, dedication and academic achievements.

The magnificent Al Bustan Palace Hotel in Oman was the venue for one of the graduation ceremonies, inspiring a truly stunning occasion and an everlasting memory for this year’s cohort. Over 250 students graduated from the UG and PG programmes in Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Computing, in addition to a cohort of MEC staff who successfully graduated from the Post Graduate Certificate (Academic Practice in Higher Education).

The long standing relationship with Middle East College (MEC) was established in 2002, resulting in a strong relationship with CU in engineering, as MEC was the first technology college in the Sultanate of Oman. The first CU undergraduate programmes taught at MEC were approved and commenced in 2006 and have continued to grow from strength to strength.

The graduation event was attended by Dr David Pilsbury, Deputy Vice-Chancellor- International Development and Mr Lawrence D’Souza, Deputy Director Business Development, Academic Partnership Unit, who have been instrumental in the strategic and operational development of this fruitful partnership.

In November 2015, Coventry University London Campus (CULC) welcomed students who were graduating from our partner institution RenaSup, after completing CU courses in the following subjects

  • BA (Hons) Global Business (Top-up)
  • BA (Hons) Global Marketing (Top-up)
  • BA (Hons) International Hospitality & Tourism Management (Top-up)

A formal celebration was held at Northumberland House in Trafalgar Square and welcomed staff and students from over 9 Lycees in France based in Grasse, Lyon, Marseille, Metz, Mulhouse, Meaux, Nantes, Paris and Perpignan. Graduates commented that the ceremony was excellent and a great chance to meet and network with our CU home students.

We wish all the graduating students every success in their future endeavours.
