Be successful and enjoy the student lifestyle!

Here are some guidelines to help you become a successful student and to also make the most out of student life. From my point of view, you will gain the most unforgettable memories during your university student life that you will carry with you for the rest of your life and pass on to your children in the future.

Success guidelines:

  •  Get yourself informed about things like timetables, room locations, deadlines and guidelines for assignments.
  •  Don’t expect to read everything on your topic – it would take a lifetime! Be an active reader – think about what you want to find out before you start.
  •  Make useful notes, not copious ones – if you try to write down everything the lecturer says you won’t be able to focus on listening.
  •  Develop your own arguments – always start by asking yourself “what do I think about this?” then ask yourself why.
  • At Coventry University it’s not about how much you know, but how well you understand it.
  •  Get referencing right – you’re expected to include every source you use while researching an assignment in your bibliography.

Coventry University student life:

Coventry University has number of good buildings where your lectures will be held. These buildings are easily found and obvious to be seen, they are also close to each other which make it easier to move from one building to another. The safety and security of the university is great because it has a well-trained security team who keeps everyone safe in the campus or outside around the campus.

My favourite university building is The Hub. The Hub is at the centre of the university, it is where you can gather with your friends and have a coffee and chat. There is also a food court up stairs where you can eat and there are computers on both floors and all the equipment you will need is provided, so it also makes it a great place for studying!

Coventry University is also known for its international services, we have an International Office which deals with all the international students. They provide all the help international students need such as accommodations and financial advice etc. They also have special immigration advisers, who can help the students with their visas and police registrations. Visit the International Students Hub to find out more!
