This week, the HRM team at the London Campus visited the CIPD’s annual Learning and Development show at the London Olympia exhibition center in Kensington.
The show was packed with exhibitors and featured several seminar arenas with exhibitors presenting on topics, including blended and cognitive learning approaches to new ways to drive growth, engage employees and embrace change programmes. The speakers we saw were highly engaging, stoking our interest by providing us with new knowledge and information about their approach to their chosen topics.
As a team, our purpose at the exhibition was twofold. Having scoured the exhibitor list prior to arrival we went with the intention of not only developing our current knowledge of HR practices and developments in industry, but also to further develop our network within the world of HRM. In October this year, for the first time, Coventry University London Campis will officially hold an HR conference titled ‘The challenges of Generation Y’. We were therefore intent on promoting our own conference, generating feedback on the topic and aiming to discover an engaging speaker or two. Keep following this blog for further information on our autumn conference!
It was great to see our MBA students at the exhibition, and to later hear them speak about the people they met, and what they enjoyed about the event.
