12 things you need to know about accommodation at CU

You’ve chosen your university; you’ve selected your course, now you need to choose where to live! If you are thinking about applying for university accommodation there are twelve important things you need to know!

The Halls and Rooms:

1. Coventry University offers a wide range of accommodation types, you can find the descriptions and locations for each hall here

2. The majority of rooms will include either a washbasin or an ensuite, and each uncatered hall includes a shared kitchen.

3. It’s a good idea to hold off buying your own kitchen appliances; meet your new neighbours and go shopping together! This will save you money and creates a fab bonding session.

4. Rooms are allocated on a first come first served basis, so you may not all be on the same courses but don’t worry! That just means you’ll have more things to talk about!

5. For you lucky catered students, the meal times are…
Priory Hall:   Breakfast 7.45-10.30  Evening Meal 4.30 – 8pm
Quadrant Hall: Breakfast 8- 10am Evening Meal 5 – 6pm

6.As long as you have made Coventry University your firm choice, you can apply for accommodation now!

Applications:

7. You will receive a fancy email once your accommodation has been confirmed; this contains a link for you to choose an arrival time slot on either the 20th or the 21st of September.

8. Guests can stay with you, as long as you gain permission from Student accommodation beforehand

9. Places are allocated on a first come first serve basis, so be sure to complete your alternative choices incase your preferred hall is full

10. You will receive an accommodation confirmation email on results day, you then have THREE days to complete the following process: a) accept your room, b) pay the £300 licence fee deposit and c) initiate a payment plan. This will confirm your booking, if you don’t confirm within the three days you will lose your offer.

11. If you have applied via clearing you will only have ONE day to complete the process – don’t miss out!

12. Finally – how much does it all cost? This depends on your preferred type of accommodation; see here for full pricing details!
