Professor Dave Stodden from the University of South Carolina, USA visited Coventry University. Prof Stodden is a world leader in the field of children’s motor competence development. During his visit he worked with Prof Mike Duncan to facilitate collaborative research between the University of South Carolina and Coventry University. Their talks focused on the link between motor skill development and health enhancing physical activity in children.
Prof Stodden also gave tutorial sessions to PhD students working on related topics in addition to an invited lecture. This provided a unique opportunity for Coventry University students and staff to learn from a world leader in their field of interest.
Two Coventry PhD students are now planning to visit the University of South Carolina in November 2016 to continue to develop the relationship between USC and CU.
