‘Writing good copy and copying good writers’, Bruno Vincent [Research Seminar Series]
Wednesday 6th November, George Eliot Building Room 403
Come join us for a talk by Bruno Vincent (Five on Brexit Island), bestselling author of more than 25 books. Many are set in worlds created by other writers, such as those of Enid Blyton, Charles Dickens, Danger Mouse or, most recently the world of fairytales. In this age where writers by their hundreds try to find professional and creative fulfilment within the confines of well-defined, ‘pre-owned’ properties (such as new Star Wars movies, TV show reboots, fresh Miss Marple and James Bond books), he explores whether this is the sign of an exhausted culture, a new and stimulating challenge, or whether it is in fact just business as usual – and a practice as old as literature itself.
