There are probably far more, but here are just a few good indicators that you’re a 90s kid…

1) The highlight of opening a new box of cereal was finding the toy inside
2) You remember the dance version of Bob the Builder coming on during primary school discos and thinking you were cool for thinking it was uncool. Also, you shouted “No he can’t!” when asked the all-important question of whether Bob can indeed fix it.
3) You used to watch Are You Afraid of the Dark? when you got home from school (and sometimes got a bit scared)
4) Blazin’ Squad was like, the coolest boy group ever
5) ‘Phat’ turned into a substitute word for ‘cool’, and ‘bad’, for some reason, began to mean ‘good’
6) You felt genuinely lied to when, years after watching, you found out Lindsay Lohan played both twins in The Parent Trap.
7) You remember the moment Jamie from Eastenders died, and Sonia was all crying and whatnot
8) (Also Eastenders-related) You started shouting to each other: “You ain’t my muvva!”… “Yes I am!”, after that arguably iconic moment between Kat and Zoe Slater
9) To this day, you know the lyrics (and, dare I say it, the dance routines?!) to Baby One More Time – Britney Spears/Wannabe – Spice Girls/Men in Black – Will Smith
10) Anything Neil from Art Attack made was like, Picasso. Someone pass the PVA glue…
11) You know the entire theme song to The Fresh Prince
12) You owned a “Now That’s What I Call Music” CD and thought it was ‘totes amazeballs’
13) After school, you met up with folk to deal Pokémon cards on the street corner, all the while being very careful that nobody saw you
14) You spent hours of your life rewinding VHSs to the beginning so you could watch them again, because DVDs weren’t a thing back then
15) Your Tamagotchi was your life
16) You had one of those slimy alien things that came in plastic eggs… and you tried to make it have a baby because you heard somewhere that it was possible
17) Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon were your go-to channels (Cow and Chicken/Dexter’s Laboratory/Johnny Bravo, obvs), until you got a bit older and switched to Trouble (Saved by the Bell/Sister Sister, obvs)
18) You wore skater jeans… even though you couldn’t skate
19) You assumed that 2 Become 1 by Spice Girls was how you eat a Muller Corner. Oh, innocence!
20) Stay Now by East 17 is still the saddest song you’ve ever listened to, and all you want to do when you hear it is put on the hugest fur-hooded winter coat you can find and sway in the snow.
21) You wanted to go on Gladiators and run up that big slide..er..travelator!
22) This one is probably more for girls, you owned a pair of jelly sandals
23)This one is probably more for boys, you had an Action Man watch
24) You had one of those Mobil cars with a red body and yellow roof that you had to drive using your legs… and if you didn’t, you were well jealous of everyone who did
25) Everything good in life was, in actual fact, ‘the bomb’
