The National Student Survey

Last month, Coventry University achieved a massive 91% student satisfaction score in the National Student Survey and was named as the ‘University of the Year for Student Experience’

Awesome… But what is it, and what does this mean?

“The National Student Survey (NSS) gathers students’ opinions on the quality of their courses. The purpose of this is to contribute to public accountability, help inform the choices of prospective students and provide data that assists institutions in enhancing the student experience.” *

The survey is so important – not just for us at the university, but for our students and prospective studentstoo! The results show us what you think about the teaching standard of your course. Over 320,000 of you declared what you thought about your assessments, feedback on your work, academic support, learning resources, the course organisation and management, your personal development and finally, your overall satisfaction at CU!

The survey tells us what we can improve on and what you already love about us, as well as giving our prospective students a great insight into what it’s like to study at Coventry. Our overall student satisfaction score of 91% meant we achieved the top student experience award, because the University scored higher than any other institution in the country!!

That’s not all! We achieved our highest ever ranking – 27th – in the Guardian University Guide 2015, and we achieved the ‘Modern University of the Year‘ award for the second year running – not to brag, but we’re officially AMAZING!

A word from our Vice-Chancellor John Latham…

For the university to be recognised in this way on the same weekend that we’re welcoming thousands of new students into our vibrant city is fantastic and a wonderful reflection of the hard work put in by all our staff all the year round.

It’s the second consecutive year Coventry has achieved the best modern university accolade, and we’re particularly thrilled to be recognised as the UK’s best for student experience so soon after our students themselves voted us top in the country for teaching quality.

We look forward to continuing to offer our students a great all-round experience and unrivalled international opportunities as we embark on the new academic year.”

We’d love to hear from final year students about what you think of your time with CU!

You can Tweet us or post on Facebook  – we may even quote you!
