The Winner of UK City of Culture 2021 was announced in December 2017 and… it’s us! We couldn’t be prouder. Well done to all who were involved in the bid.
Over the last year we’ve seen lots of events taking place from the Museum of the Moon to Crafts of Punjab and more. We hosted over 50 hours of workshops with artists, cultural organisations and voluntary organisations. Now we’ve been told that we have been named the next UK’s City of Culture and will hold the title in 2021 beating Swansea, Paisley, Stoke-on-Trent and Sunderland and we are thrilled!
From new job opportunities and thriving events to enjoy to more places to eat, shop and drink, winning will have positive impacts on our city and the community. We have an excellent culture here in Coventry already, since we are multicultural city, but we cannot wait to see what winning City of Culture 2021 brings for us in the near future. We’re ready to promote arts and culture further as a means of celebration and regeneration.
