After the success of the 2015 Middle East Film Festival, Culturae Mundi will again delight us this year with their exciting programme for the Middle East Film Festival 2016.
The film festival will open at 12:15 pm on Friday 4th March 2016 with two short films produced by students from the Middle East College (MEC) in Oman, followed by the first of 8 film screenings held at the Square One cinema in Coventry.
Showcasing Turkish, Egyptian, Palestinian, Israeli, and Sudanese culture, the programme includes a selection of different genres from drama to real life documentaries and includes films by female film producers in recognition of the International Women’s day which takes place during the festival.
The varied and interesting programme has something for all and this year also includes two panel discussions, looking at Forced Migration and Rebuilding Lives on Saturday 5th March at 16:00 and Armed Conflict and Divided Societies on Monday 7th March at 15:30. The panel discussions will be chaired by Professor Alpaslan Ozerdem, Co-director of the Centre for Trust Peace and Social Relations with eminent panellist from the CTPSR. Both are held in Square One.
