Dr Matthew Blackett’s Trip to China Sparks Future Research Plans

Dr Matthew Blackett, Senior Lecturer in Physical Geography and Natural Hazards recently visited the School of Environmental Science and Spatial Informatics in China.

The trip, which aimed to foster collaborations in the fields of possible earthquake predictions and environmental modelling was funded by the Universities China Committee in London and Coventry University.

During the trip which was hosted by Dr Qin Kai and Professor Wu Lixin of the China University of Mining and Technology, Xuzhou City; Dr Matthew Blackett gave guest lectures, acted as an external examiner for Chinese student interviews in English and has drawn up plans for future research.
