5 things to do with your May Day Bank Holiday Weekend

May is definitely one of our favourite times of the year as we get two bank holidays in the space of a month! With the May Day bank holiday nearly upon us, UnCOVered’s Sharna Mistry has put together a list of things to do over the three-day weekend!

 

Cheese and Chutney Festival (Saturday 4th May)

Fargo Village are bringing back their popular Cheese and Chutney Festival perfect for all you cheese lovers out there! From cheeses, chutneys and preserves there will be plenty on offer. Artisan traders will also be there throughout the day so you can carry on indulging once you get home. Best of all it’s free entry!


 

Earlsdon Festival (Monday 6th May)

The Earlsdon Festival is a community festival which takes place every year. Both Earlsdon Street and Earlsdon School will be transformed for Coventry’s biggest street festival, with 60 market style stalls, street food and two entertainment areas. It’s set to be a busy day with 10,000 visitors expected!


 

Coventry Comedy Festival
(Friday 3rd May – Sunday 12th May)

CCF-generic-imageCoventry’s very own Comedy Festival kicks off on Friday 3rd May and runs for 10 days. Over the 10 days Coventry will host a variety of comedians across a number of different city centre venues. Comedians include Sooz Kemper, Daliso Chaponda, Tez Ilyas and many more. If you’re looking for a laugh this bank holiday weekend then The Coventry Comedy Festival is definitely not one to miss!


 

Go Ape at Coombe Abbey

Why not bring out your adventurous side and try out the brand new Go Ape at Coombe Abbey! This brand new course opened in April and definitely doesn’t disappoint. It features the Plummet, a 12-metre vertical drop, high speed zip lines and daring crossings. Go Ape even offer student discount!


 

Visit the World’s biggest Primark

You’ve probably heard about the opening of the World’s biggest Primark just down the road in Birmingham. Boasting five floors, covering 161 000 square feet it’s not hard to see why people are in awe. As well as affordable fashion, the store also boasts a Disney-themed café (including Mickey Mouse shaped pancakes!), a barber shop and a beauty studio! Be prepared to get lost inside!
