Music to get you through the week

Music to get you through the week #4

Which songs would be in your music playlist this week? We’ve picked tunes to match your mood, from sleepy Mondays to Friday nights out on the town. Check out our playlist and be sure to let us know your suggestions too.

#Monday sunrise

Here comes the sun by The Beatles

Did you notice that the sun shines longer these days? Yes, Spring has arrived on campus! It’s getting warmer and warmer now. No more thick coats, long stocks and big boots. When the morning sunlight shines through the window at 7:00 am, celebrate with this fantastic Beatles’ song:

#Tuesday in the library

This week I recommend an instrumental track to accompany your studying. Try listening to Igor Krutoy’s relaxing music, it’s inspiring and surprisingly tender. You may find that the melodies created by this Russian composer can even relieve you from stress.

#Wednesday part-time work

Firework by Katy Perry

If you have a part-time job while studying, you must have felt stressed at times, especially near coursework deadlines or exam season. You feel sleepy all the time, make some mistakes at work, and then manage to carry your tired body to home at night, with no motivation to stay up and study. It’s all alright; all you need is a good song and a deep sleep. Everything will be fine in the morning.
“Tomorrow is another day” – that’s a bonus for you-  a quote from ‘Gone with the wind’!
Here’s the song to keep you going:

“Cause, baby, you’re a firework
Come on, show ’em what you’re worth
Make ’em go, “Aah, aah, aah”
As you shoot across the sky-y-y

Baby, you’re a firework
Come on, let your colours burst
Make ’em go, “Aah, aah, aah”
You’re gonna leave ’em all in awe, awe, awe”

#Thursday hot shower

Dancing in the moonlight by Toploader

Add some music to your shower time to boost your mood! “Dancing in the moonlight” is my suggestion for you. Sing and dance a long with it as if no one is watching. If nothing else, You’ll make yourself laugh.

“We get it on most every night
when that moon is big and bright
its a supernatural delight
everybody’s dancing in the moonlight

everybody’s feeling warm and bright
its such a fine and natural sight
everybody’s dancing in the moonlight…”

#Friday recovery

It’s alright, by Fun.

So deadlines have passed, you’ve survived – just about, but now you’re feeling faint and your head is pounding. You just want to stay in bed. So let the music cheer you up a bit. It’s fine to be feeling weak and low sometimes because…
You can’t see the beauty of the rainbow if you haven’t got through the storm.

“Yeah, it’s all alright.
I guess it’s all alright.
I got nothing left inside of my chest
but it’s all alright.
Yeah, it’s all alright.
I guess it’s all alright.
I got nothing left inside of my chest
but it’s all alright…”

Yes you’ll be all alright!

#Saturday tea time

Living in the moment by Jason Mraz

This lovely song is good to be played in the afternoon when your friends are around. Take the time to talk together, get off your phones and enjoy this very moment – here and now. It’s so precious.
These are the  little things that make life great.

“I’m living in the moment
I’m living my life
Just taking it easy
With peace in my mind
Got peace in my heart
Got peace in my soul
Oh, wherever I’m going, I’m already home”

#Sunday stroll

What a wonderful world – covered by Stacey Kent

Enjoy your Sunday walk through a park with this beautiful song. Take a deep breath; watch, smell and listen. You may see the beauty of a green tree, a perfect rose or that rare blue sky. Enjoy that blissful feeling as you relax and take in your surroundings.

I see skies of blue,
And clouds of white.
The bright blessed day,
The dark sacred night.
And I think to myself,
What a wonderful world.
