The highly regarded University of Newcastle, Australia, recently visited Coventry University to explore areas for collaboration. The institution, which is in the top 3% of higher education institutions in the world, enjoyed a packed programme at CU, meeting with the Faculty of Business and Law and Faculty Research Centres as well as the Centre for Global engagement (CGE) and the Academic Partnership Unit (APU).
The Newcastle delegation included Professor Morris Altman (Dean and Head of the Newcastle Business School) and Dr Antony Drew (Manager of International Relations for the Faculty of Business and Law).
Dr Suzanna Tomassi, Partnership Development Manager in the APU, instigated the delegation visit after meeting Dr Drew at a conference in Russia and was a key contributor in organising the meetings which discussed the development of future projects with Newcastle University, including potential collaborative research activities, Online International Learning (OIL) projects and staff and student mobility initiatives.
