Coventry set to take SME manufacturers across the Atlantic

Coventry University is jetting off in May 2015 to lead a special behind the scenes best practice tour of manufacturing in the U.S. Mid-West.

The ‘Advanced Manufacturing Outward Mission’ will run from the 17th-25th of May. The University will be taking a select group of companies interested in exporting to the U.S. or looking to understand more about the manufacturing landscape there to meet best practice U.S. based manufacturers and in-territory export advisors. The visit aims to help UK SME manufacturers connect with like-minded companies who face the same industry challenges and to create a network across the Atlantic.

A full week of exclusive meetings will include visits to both global U.S. manufacturers and smaller organisations who are opening to their doors to UK SMEs to share knowledge and discuss areas of mutual interest. Three of the eight U.S. based ‘host’ companies are set to include Subaru of Indiana – home of North American Subaru production; industry innovation leaders – Bruno Independent Living Aids – manufacturers of assisted living equipment; and the world famous John Deere Horicon Works – the designer and manufacturer of riding lawn equipment and utility vehicles.

A number of focused networking events and briefings will be held throughout the week, supported by the in-territory UKTI team and State Economic Development Corporations that will be tailored for the final group confirmed on the mission.

The mission’s completion will be celebrated with a visit to the world famous Indy 500 Race Day, which happens every year at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Places for this mission are now available. We are only able to take a small number of eligible companies and places will be allocated on a first come-first served basis. For more information please visit www.coventry.ac.uk/usmission
