Representatives from Coventry University’s Faculty of Engineering and Computing will be exhibiting at a leading manufacturing exhibition next week.
The University is joining MACH 2014, which takes place at the NEC Birmingham from Monday 7 to Friday 11 April 2014. The biennial exhibition from the Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA) – the largest event of its kind in the UK – brings together all the best innovations and latest developments from the sector under one roof for a week long showcase of technological excellence.
Coventry University, which has a long history of working with industry and which has recently entered into a collaboration with the Unipart Group to develop a new multi-million pound Institute for Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering, is exhibiting at the event for the very first time.
The University will be taking its place amongst 500 exhibitors from the manufacturing technologies sector including major industry players like Airbus and Rolls Royce to showcase its expertise and to highlight the efforts it is making as a business-facing institution to strengthen links between academia and commerce.
As well as a healthy supply of up and coming talent ready to meet the future needs of industry, the University provides consultancy services, opportunities for continuing professional development and access to world class research specialists.
Coventry University’s engineering and computing experts, including members of the metrology and EC Futures teams, will be on hand to discuss the support they offer which ranges from research, testing and development to funded projects for SMEs, including the performance improvement initiative and metrology for industry programme.
The team will also highlight the cutting-edge technology that the University has at its disposal via an interactive touch screen virtual tour of its engineering and computing centre, which houses the latest in high tech teaching equipment and boasts an academic resource of over 300 experts in disciplines ranging from manufacturing techniques to software analysis and design.
