Placement Opportunities

In every faculty that we have – Business and Law, Health and Life Sciences, Engineering, Environment and Computing and Arts and Humanities – we have a Careers and Employability Team. The team takes pride in focusing on helping you prepare for your career, by giving you a competitive edge in the graduate job market. The team helps you do this by providing adequate access to placement and job opportunities with support that helps you to secure these opportunities.

Coventry University works closely with different companies across the UK and Europe to offer students a range of internships designed to be beneficial to them. Which enables them to gain an important level of experience on the way that will put them in good stead for when their degree is completed and time to step into the working world. Companies range from large corporate organisations to SME’s, public sector and non-profit organisations. With internships being short term and long term there is guaranteed to be a role to suit everyone.

With the existing relationships the University has established leading organisations, students have secured placements for companies such as Jaguar Land Rover, Volvo, Whittington Health NHS trust, Unipart, Warwickshire Council, Nissan, BMW among many more!

This year, Coventry University also has started a 9-month, paid Graduate Internship scheme in which they take on their own set of graduates giving them the chance to work across different departments of the University. Allowing them to develop their experience working in key areas within the University and putting into practice what they have learned so far during their studies. They put on professional development days for us with the help of the Coventry University Central Careers Service, who are on hand to help and support us. Offering a number of services that include careers advice, interview preparation; help with the job search, CVs and cover letters.

As a current graduate intern at CU in Marketing and External Affairs I have really valued my experience working within the university understanding the day to day challenges they face throughout the year, it has allowed me take on more tasks and responsibilities than I could ever imagine and I’m thankful for the way I have grown as an employee because of it and how it has prepared me to go onto my next role.

Rhys 🙂
