Over 4 million children go missing each year due to human trafficking and it is estimated that, as of 2017, there were 24.9 million victims of human trafficking around the globe. This is something that deserves to be discussed.
Student Maisie Hancox (Journalism, Year 2) decided to ignite the spark of the debate on her blog, True Fioritura (True Bloom), where she frequently writes about topics like lifestyle, beauty and advocates for subjects such as mental health awareness.
This January (aka Human Trafficking Awareness Month), Maisie is looking to collaborate with poets, artists, musicians and photographers on the theme “Human Trafficking and PTSD”. The submitted pieces will be featured on a big portfolio post and shared on social media with a link to Thorn, an organisation that fights human trafficking and sexual abuse of children.
When it comes to poetry, four poems on the topic will be picked and posted around the second week of February.
