“Relish” Scarborough Review

“Relish” Scarborough Review

If Trip Advisor is anything to go by, choosing Relish in Scarborough for team development day lunch was a safe bet. See if you agree, as we review four of their best-selling dishes.

Relish Kitchen & Coffee House is on Waterhouse Lane, just off Scarborough’s main street of Westborough.

Well-known for its burgers, and there are lots of other tasty dishes on the menu too. Wraps, sandwiches, soup, salads, cakes and light bites. Plus a breakfast menu serving up all the classics until 12pm daily.

After much deliberation we made our choices.

Mediterranean Veg & Goat’s Cheese Ciabatta

This was a real sunshine dish. Toasted ciabatta bread topped with sundried tomatoes, olives, garlic and courgette. Finished off with a generous helping of melted goat’s cheese. It was well-seasoned, fresh and absolutely delish.

The American Beauty Burger

The American Beauty Burger

Fiendishly good, the American Beauty really hit the spot. Juicy homemade burger topped with bacon, cheddar cheese, gherkins and secret sauce. Served in a doughy brioche bun with a side of skin-on fries.

The Blues Burger

The Blues Burger

As far as burgers go, this was magnificent. Juicy patty topped with bacon, blue cheese, rocket and sweet caramelised red onions. Plus a side of dirty fries – homemade and smothered in melted cheese and crispy bacon. It was tasty and oh so moreish.

Bacon, Mozzarella & Pesto Ciabatta

Bacon, Mozzarella & Pesto Ciabatta

Off the specials board, this was a wonderful twist on the classic BLT. Toasted ciabatta bread smothered in herby green pesto, topped with thick bacon and melted mozzarella cheese. Very easy to demolish.

The decor in Relish is modern rustic, and the vibe is relaxed and welcoming. It’s the type of place you could happily take friends, a date, your Gran – there’s something for everyone. A faux grassy area through the back is great if you fancy a bit of an alfresco dining experience.

The staff are really friendly and helpful. When we visited, all of their dishes (bar one) could be done gluten free. You can reserve tables in advance on their website to eliminate that ‘will there be a table?’ stress.

Wholeheartedly recommended and definitely a safe bet.  Thanks Trip Advisor.
