Your night in for the Oscars

Your night in for the Oscars

So it’s February again, meaning there’s one big event of the season left, and one big question on everyone’s mind… is Leo finally going to get an Oscar?

On Sunday 28th February, celebrities will grace the red carpet, in their poshest frocks, as they proceed into 88th Academic Awards. We at Discover are very excited and are preparing for our big night in. If you’re hoping to do the same, here’s our essential guide for the best night in of the year!

How can I watch the Oscars?
As the Oscars take place in California, here in the UK we will be a few hours behind. Be mindful the event will be live from 1:30am on Sky Movies Oscar, a channel set up by Sky exclusively to air the awards.

Food, Food Food!
It’s going to be very early in the morning so we recommend you stock up on snacks during the day. That means going to the supermarket and stocking up on popcorn, cereal, biscuits and crisps – all guilt free!

Don’t forget your mobile phone
You’ll want to join the trend and get your reactions to the winners and losers up as soon as possible on social media. So get snapping and tweeting – Don’t forget to use #Oscars.

Most memorable moments
Winning an Oscar must be such an honour, no wonder people can be all over the place as they head up to the podium to accept it! Who can forget Halle Berry’s infamous speech where she sobbed the entire way through?

Or when poor Jennifer Lawrence tripped up in her Dior dress? We only wish we had Hugh Jackman and Bradley Cooper to try and help us up!

We all remember Ellen DeGeneres’ awesome group selfie last year. Wonder what amazing selfies will be taken this year?

Well, that’s all the Oscar fun from us until next week where we will be going over all the gossip, the gowns and the tears! We also want to wish Leo good luck on his fifth nomination- we hope he finally bags an Oscar.
