The University Clearing process was simplified by Kirsty in this earlier blog post. Now Student Finance wish to remind you it is also important that you let them know what you are up to!
Already applied for finance?
You may well have applied for student finance when you made your initial course choice and university application. However, have you recently decided that you want to change your course choice through clearing? Then it is important that you let student finance know the new course details, as it could affect what finance you are entitled to.
To change your details simply log in to your student finance account, select ‘change your application’ then change the course details accordingly.
Still haven’t applied for finance?
It takes at last six weeks for a student finance application to be processed, so you need to get your skates on if you want your first loan instalment to contain the full amount. However, don’t panic! The nice student finance people have assured that they will do initial assessments for every student when they first apply, this ensures that some part of the loan will be with you as close to the start of your course as possible. So there’s no need to put off that important trip to Ikea!
