6 essential apps for student life
No matter whether you are an iPhone or an android user, we all use mobile apps; some we cannot live without, whilst some are downloaded then never used. Here at Discuss we’ve been thinking about what we consider to be the most essential and best apps for 2016, whatever your interest.
Just Eat
For those days when you can’t be bothered to cook, Just Eat is a life saver. Instead of spending forever deciding what to eat, why not make things easier for yourself and download the Just Eat app. Having a wide food offering from a variety of different cuisines, Just Eat has got you covered for when hunger strikes. Notifying you when the restaurant has accepted your order, as well as providing you with an expected delivery time, it couldn’t be easier!

My Fitness Pal
Now if you haven’t heard of this app, first of all, where have you been? Granted, this one isn’t a newbie but it is definitely essential for those of you looking to not only monitor your weight but lose weight. My Fitness Pal is an app which tracks the calories and nutrients you eat throughout the day when you input in your food and drink. Users are able to find branded food products as well as restaurant meals and can even calculate the nutrient content of your own personal recipes – however we may not want to know for that cheeky Nandos!

Google Maps & Sky Map
Many of you might question why you need an app for maps and travel when your phone already comes with one. Well let me tell you, if you don’t have Google Maps you have been missing out. Ever been driving and you’re on a different road to the one your phone says you are? Whether you’re walking, cycling, driving, or even hover boarding, Google Maps is the most accurate digital map available on a mobile device. Google being Google have taken their offering one step further and created Google Sky Map. This allows users to use their phone to find out what stars are above them no matter where they are – pretty cool right?

What’sApp
After recently being acquired by Facebook What’sApp has now become a free must have messaging app. Perfect for sending free photos and videos instantly, as well as having group chats with all your friends, even if they do get muted after a while! Long gone are the days where the excuse ‘I never received the message’ can be used as What’sApp is able to see whether your message has, not only been delivered but read; Definitely a life saver for those who aren’t the best at replying.

Mobile Banking Apps
Now this one isn’t app specific as all the banks are getting on the band wagon. However, mobile banking will save you time, as well as monitor your finances, and let you know when your student finance has arrived! A must have, yes we know. With Apple pay available if you own an iPhone 6 or newer you would be silly not to.
