Child friendly places to go in Coventry

Coventry is home to many students and has lots of fun things to see and do! In particular, for students with children, or with family members who are visiting, there are some great child friendly places to go! Here’s our Top Five:

1.) The Belgrade Theatre 

The Belgrade Theatre is centrally located in town in the Belgrade Square and offers plays, concerts and pantomimes throughout the year and with tickets for children starting at £8.75, it’s a bargain! Also, they offer half term and weekend activities such as acting classes and holiday camps to keep the kids amused.

2.) Coombe Country Park 

Coombe Country Park is one Coventry’s true gems, and with extensive grounds and a multiple play areas suitable for children aged 8 and above, it is the perfect place for kids to run around, get some fresh air and have a picnic! Plus, there’s a Discovery Centre, Gift shop and Pottery Studio too to make the most of your day out.

There is no charge to enter the park, but there is a small charge for parking on the grounds.

3.) Ikea Restaurant 

Stay with us on this one! Need a cheap and cheerful place to take the kids for lunch? Then look no further than Ikea in Coventry where you can get free children’s meal with every adult meal (over £2.75), half sized portions for half the price (on selected meals), and free fruit with children’s meals. Just ensure your children don’t drag you off to the toy section!

4.) Creams

If the kids deserve a sweet treat then no look further than Creams. Easy to reach in Swanswell Street and the menu is extensive! There are Knickerbocker glories, sundaes, waffles, cakes, crepes, milkshakes and smoothies… there is something for everyone. Plus, the restaurant is super modern and spacious so there’s room for everyone, and the staff can also make a birthday extra special for your little one!

5.) The Skydome 

What isn’t there to do in the Skydome? With Planet Ice and the Odeon, there are loads of things the kids can get involved with. Children can learn to skate, watch the latest films and play arcade games. Plus, you can have grab lunch or dinner in Harvester. With handy parking on site too, the Skydome is the perfect place for a day out. Also, if you are watching a film at the Odeon, car parking is free!
