Public Health – getting into the industry
As you probably already know the public health industry is broad and varied. It’s an industry that hopefuls dream of entering. When established in your chosen field chances are you’ll benefit from one of the most highly sort after criteria for any job seeker… job satisfaction.

Get qualified
This first one isn’t rocket science, get yourself qualified. Entering the industry and ultimately climbing the career ladder could all hinge on what qualifications you have. Go to conferences
This is a great way to meet people and potential employers, just think about it, they’ll all be in the same place, under one roof, at the same time. This type of opportunity won’t happen anywhere else. So, grab your CV, dress to impress and put yourself out there!
Get help
There’s no shame in seeking some extra help. There are services dedicated to helping people get into employment, for example the National Careers Service or even the Job Centre. Whatever you decide to do, get yourself online, have a quick search and take advantage of these services.
Be brave
One of the best things you can do is, be brave. It might sound simple, but putting yourself out there and never giving up will massively boost your chances of landing your dream job. After all, you are in charge of your future.
Work experience
This one is massive. Employers actively look at your work history so the more work experience you have the better. There are plenty of opportunities out there, if you’re lucky you’ll land a paid placement, if not you’ll more than likely have to do voluntary work, but trust us, don’t turn your nose up at unpaid work, it will be worth its weight in gold when you land your dream job.
