Your Guide to the CUSU Elections

It’s Coventry University Students’ Union (CUSU) Spring Elections time! But what does this mean for you? What do you have to do? Who is running? Why should you participate? Well don’t worry, Discuss is here to tell you all you need to know about the CUSU Spring Elections.

What are the Spring Elections?
The CUSU Spring Elections are when students vote for who represents them in the various roles that make up CUSU, these include a President and CUC Representative. For more information on the roles of CUSU and how CUSU operates, please see the Your Union website.

Who are the candidates?
There are over 90 students running for positions in CUSU, including 5 CUC students, outlined below:

The CUSU website is a great place to start. You can also go along to the Candidate Question Time on 10th March at 6pm in the Hub Canteen, where free pizza will be given to the first 100 attendees!

Can I vote?
Of course you can! CUC students have full membership to CUSU so you are entitled to vote for all of the positions. Voting opens online at 12pm on 14th March and closes at 12pm on 17th March.

Why should I vote?
Voting for student union representatives is very important. This is how students determine who represents them, their issues and who can impact university policies on their behalf. Remember, the CUSU can offer advice and representation for you on a variety of issues including academia, housing and finances.
