Introducing our new faculty structure…
Coventry University is rapidly expanding. We have more students than ever before, we are opening a new Science and Health building in the new year and 2015 has seen the launch of our third UK campus – based in Scarborough.
As we look to continue our ambitious programme of expansion, we have been looking at our current academic structure. To enable us to grow and develop further, we have restructured the University to enable a clear academic agenda.
We have introduced 4 new faculties, which will replace the current existing faculties and schools. Each new faculty will be further divided into schools, totalling 13, which will cover specialist topics.
Faculty of Engineering, Environment & Computing (EEC)
The three Schools will be:
- School of Computing, Electronics and Maths
- School of Energy, Construction and Environment
- School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Automotive Engineering.
Geography, Environment and Disaster Management (GED) will move from BES to the new School of Energy, Construction and Environment.
Faculty of Business & Law (FBL)
The four Schools will be:
- School of Strategy and Leadership
- School of Economics, Finance and Accounting
- School of Marketing and Management
- School of Law
Faculty of Health & Life Sciences (HLS)
The existing 4 departments will be reorganised into three new Schools:
- School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health
- School of Life Sciences
- School of Psychological, Social and Behavioural Sciences
Faculty of Arts & Humanities (FAH)
This will include the existing School of Art and Design and Architecture, which will move from Engineering & Computing. (However, Architectural Technology, closely linked to Construction, will remain in the new Faculty of Engineering, Environment & Computing.)The Department of English and Languages and Department of International Studies and Social Sciences will both move from BES to Arts & Humanities.
