“Black History Month is a time for us to discover and explore our histories, to examine and reflect on what life is like now, and to build hopes and dreams for a brighter future.”
Black history month has been annually recognised since 1926, it aims to ‘promote the knowledge of black history, culture and heritage’ and encourage people to ‘learn, honour and celebrate the achievements of black men and women throughout history’
Throughout October the Centre for Communities and Social Justice will be hosting a series of seminars to mark the event. These seminars are free for staff and students to attend, simply register here .
