As you’re packing your bags ready for the move to university, there may be some items you haven’t considered! Don’t panic, here at UnCOVered, we’ve put together our list of items your student wardrobe definitely needs. You are welcome.
1. A onesie
Now, we’re not permitting or suggesting that this particular item be regularly worn out in public, but we do recommend it as the ultimate chill outfit. There’s nothing comfier than a snuggly one piece, especially during those colder winter nights! If you don’t own one already (why!?) there’s a huge range to choose from, across a variety of retailers… But if you’re a student, Primark may be your best bet, cheap, cheerful and often the hoods come with ears. You really can’t go wrong.
2. Go-to fancy dress item
During your time at university, there will be a number of occasions where a fancy dress outfit is required. So it’s always handy to have something you can reuse or repurpose! With Halloween just around the corner, you may want to get your thinking cap on, you don’t want to be the last-minute-decision-so-I-came-as-a-cat person do you? Get creative, and keep an eye out for some inspiration, if you can work an item into more than one outfit or event, you’re on to a winner!
3. Pumps/Trainers
More specifically we recommend the classic Converse Chuck Taylors, or Vans Authentics! These are super essential, they go with everything and last for ages – well worth the money. Walking to the shops to get some milk? Slip ’em on (no one un-ties the laces on these bad boys). Heading out to meet mates, but want to go for a more casual jeans and trainers vibe? These are timeless in the fashion world.
4. Wardrobe Airfreshener
This doesn’t mean you should never wash your clothes, but by getting a wardrobe air-freshener, it will mean your clothes last a little bit longer! Doing your own washing can be a mundane and annoying task, so this should help you put it off for an extra day or two… it will only work with some items though. ‘Delicates’ should only be worn once.
5. Beanie/wooly hat
Who hasn’t had a bad hair day? Or even a ‘can’t be bothered to do anything with it’ hair day? We all have them, which is why we think you should own at least one beanie or wooly hat of any size, shape and colour! The baggier the better. They’re also perfect for the colder months, to stop you freezing up on your way to lectures!
