Black Friday Sales – all you need to know

Black Friday Sales – all you need to know

Black Friday has been a huge shopping event for years in America and it’s now gradually making its way over to the UK. The shopping event was only launched on our shores a few years ago, but the popularity of the event has seen it grow rapidly.

What is Black Friday?

For those of you who don’t know Black Friday is basically America’s equivalent to the UK’s Boxing Day sales. Like we celebrate Christmas, America celebrate Thanksgiving and as such Black Friday is always the day after. This is when businesses reduce their prices dramatically to encourage us shoppers to begin Christmas shopping… assuming we haven’t already that is.

When is it?

So, enough with the background information, all you really want to know is when is it?! Get your diaries at the ready… Black Friday falls on Friday 27th November this year. Not only will you be able to start that Christmas shopping but hopefully grab yourself a bargain or two.

For those of you who like to plan ahead Black Friday will fall on the fourth Friday of November each year. So if you’re one who loves a good sale be sure to remember this!

What stores are participating?

Cyber Monday, what’s that?

Cyber Monday is always the Monday after Black Friday, its effectively rounds of the 4 day sales event. It will be on Monday 30th November this year.

Cyber Monday was first bought about when retailers noticed that consumers were still shopping the end of the Black Friday sales on the Monday despite being back at work! Now we hear you saying “why would you wait until the end of the sale to start buying?” Well, effectively yes it is just the end of the Black Friday weekend however some companies choose to hold back and unveil new sales on the Monday. So do bear this in mind when deciding what bargains to buy.

Enjoy, we certainly will!
