This year Coventry University have received a huge number of applicants, and we look forward to welcoming you all on campus in September.
Due to this high level of students joining us this year, University campus accommodation is now completely full. However, we will be able to support anyone without accommodation in finding their new home in Coventry.
Awaiting allocation
The accommodation team is working hard to update every new student via email, in the meantime if your accommodation status is ‘awaiting allocation’ we can now confirm you have not been allocated a place in our accommodation halls. Instead you’ll be supported to find a place in a shared student house within the private sector.
Student experience
We know many of you are concerned that you will miss out on the ‘freshers experience’ by not living in halls. Please be assured that you will still be able to join in all freshers’ events, meet new people and embrace university life. Moving away and coming to Uni is so much more than adapting to the location and accommodation. It’s about gaining memories, having amazing experiences and meeting many new people.
Choosing student housing let by our own letting agent thefuturelets, means you’ll have a new sense of independence; however secretly you’ll know that there will always be somebody nearby to help you if you struggle along the way. When you live with others you can never get bored, you always come up with ideas and new things to do; having coffee together in the garden, doing the supermarket shop and decorating your new home will bring you and your housemates close together in a way that catered halls can’t.

External agencies
If you decide to use an external agency, rather then our own letting agent thefuturelets here are a few tips to ensure your safety:
- Ensure your landlord can provide safety certificates for all appliances. If you have chosen a shared house be sure the landlord has a valid ‘House in Multiple Occupation’ (HMO) Licence for the amount of people that will be living in the property. You can find out more about HMO licenses at www.gov.uk.
- Never hand over any money until you have visited the property and met the letting agent and /or landlord. If you are unable to do this, ask someone you trust to do this on your behalf. Also make sure that the Tenancy Deposit Protection Schemes (TDP) covers the deposit you pay.
- Looking for property online? Please read these guidelines on safe property rental and protection against fraudulent landlords:
